Client project
Hair care advice at the mirror, in 100+ pharmacies.
Pharmacy beauty sections hold hundreds of hair care products and rarely a specialist to explain them. For a haircare brand, AI mirrors in more than 100 Jean Coutu and Brunet pharmacies analyze each shopper's hair, recommend a personal routine and can bring in a live brand advisor. The brand gets first-party data it never had at the shelf.

AI mirror in a pharmacy beauty bay, from hair analysis to a live call with a brand advisor
The challenge
Hair care is a considered purchase in a self-serve aisle. Choosing well means knowing your hair type, your scalp and what you want to fix. Few shoppers do, pharmacy staff are busy at the counter, and the brand learns nothing about who stopped and why.
The experience
Mirrors built into the beauty section use privacy-safe camera AI to start a short hair care consultation. The analysis is Axis4's own, built on rules set with the brand's specialists. Shoppers get a routine matched to their needs, with the products on the shelf beside them and short how-to videos, and can opt in to receive it later.
For more, one tap connects the shopper to a remote brand advisor for a live consult, right at the shelf.
Why it works
The mirror does what a specialist would, in every store, so the brand puts its expertise in the aisle without staffing it. Each consultation is measured, and every opt-in builds a first-party customer base the brand owns.
Axis4 usually connects proven AI tools. When none fits the brand, as here, it builds the engine itself.
